URGENT: Thousands of Floridians Are Losing Their HIV Medication
  • URGENT: Thousands of Floridians Are Losing Their HIV Medication

  • Save ADAP. Permanently.

The Florida Department of Health cut the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) in March. We forced emergency funding, but it expires June 30. If state leaders don't act, lifesaving coverage will disappear again. Florida must restore ADAP and make it permanent.

This is urgent. This is preventable. Anything less than permanent ADAP is cruel and inhuman.

    The Facts at a Glance

    • 12,000 people lost insurance-based coverage
    • Without ADAP, experts project that more than 4,000 people will become infected over the next five years
    • Each new infection costs more than $500,000 to treat over a lifetime
    • Florida already has the 3rd highest HIV rate in the country.

  • ADAP Works. And Pays for Itself.

Through ADAP, Florida gets $177 million per year in federal funding and drug manufacturer rebates. Since the program was cut, Florida is forfeiting about $485,000 every day ADAP remains shut down

Stand with us and call on Florida's leaders to make ADAP permanent. This isn't just the right thing to do, it’s the smart thing to do. People living with HIV are counting on us. Again. Let's make sure this time, the fix holds.
